Science fiction was invented by a queer woman - when did it change? Science fiction has always been an exploration in pushing boundaries, discussing social laments, and questioning the hegemony. These films follow in that incredible tradition, focusing on the classic isolated scientist (Immortal), splintering timelines and star-crossed lovers (Transmission), fantastical pills that give you everything you could dream of (Somnia), the recounting of a long life (In Orbit), and the post-apocalypse (Echo). In a covid-world, stories of immortality and isolation and longing for love are meaningful in a new, different way. Enjoy.
